National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) researchers and aviation industry stakeholders collaborated on a report that provides updated recommendations for effective sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) quality standards, transportation methods, and blending techniques. Notably, researchers determined that SAF can be mixed with petroleum jet fuel at existing terminals and delivered to airports using existing pipelines and trucks, resulting in efficiencies for fuel production facilities, suppliers, and airports.
